Program Description
The Birth-Through-Two program is a service provided to
identify and serve, at the earliest possible age, children who are
experiencing delays in their development. Upon referral, an initial
development screening is completed to measure the child's overall
development in relation to his/her age.
If a delay exists, Birth-Through-Two services are
offered to the infant/toddler and their family. If accepted, further
developmental testing is completed in the areas of motor, self-help,
communication, socialization, and problem solving skills. The family and
the therapist then collaborate with the service coordinator to develop an
Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Staff will also assist families
in obtaining other needed medical or professional services.
Other services include developmental play groups, toy,
book and adaptive equipment, lending library, newsletter, and parent
support.
