Vocational Services
The primary purpose of this area of CCAR is to provide
vocational training and employment for individuals with disabilities. This
goal is achieved through several available programs. A copy of our
handbook is available
here.
Vocational Evaluation is a way to determine
strengths, interests, and abilities through formal testing and workplace
observations. Vocational evaluations last approximately 2 to 4 weeks,
depending on the consumer's scheduling requirements. Evaluations occur
at the CCAR Manufacturing Plant or at a community employment site.
Consumers earn wages for the actual work performed during the course of
their vocational evaluation. Most individuals who participate in the
Vocational Development, Supported Employment, or Extended Employment
Programs complete an evaluation prior to program assignment.
Vocational Development is a time limited program
that offers training for work
skills, habits, and attitudes.
Extended Employment provides on-going training,
counseling, and employment support for individuals who have completed the
evaluation phase, but do not have the skills necessary for community
employment.
Supported Employment is designed lo provide
community employment for individuals with severe disabilities who require
direct supervision and other assistance.
Placement Services is time limited and helps
individuals in locating, obtaining, and keeping a community job.

Outsourcing Services

supported employment program, a disabled worker (or group of workers) is
hired as an employee of the business with which they work. A job coach
may be provided to ensure adequate work performance and quality.

needing additional personnel may choose to call our Placement Specialist who
